ILNA Leadership - A Day of Reflection & Team Building

Going through an exponential increase in the pace of change in our
business, the leadership at Interloop North America took a break
from the action and met outside the office for a laid-back day of
reflection and team building. The small but sturdy group of 8;
Shelley Rider, President; Hilda McDuff, Executive Vice President
Sales & Merchandising; Emily Cunningham, Director of Design;
Lynn Gwyn, Controller; Keith Davis, Director International Sourcing
and Product Development; Heather Wilson, Director Marketing and
Steve Jarvis, Director of Operations, met at Summerfield Farms, a
working farm and events venue.
There were a few rounds of archery tag to get the team excited and
step out of their comfort zones. The day was spent reflecting on
first-half 2018 results, the effectiveness of key strategies,
successes and major challenges to overcome. The team then
worked out what to focus on for the remaining year and where to ILNA Leadership team at Summerfield Farms
adjust action plans. In addition to the pleasant company of great (Front L-R) Hilda McDuff, Emily Cunningham, Shelley Rider, Lynn Gwyn, Keith Davis
colleagues, everybody enjoyed a delicious lunch of organic foods (Back L-R) Heather Wilson, Steve Jarvis
raised on the farm.
ILNA President Speaks at Winston Salem Venture Café
On 28 Jun., representatives of Interloop North America (ILNA) enhance & accelerate the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship
gathered in the Winston Salem, NC Innovation Quarter for through high-impact programing and events.
Sustainability Night at Venture Café. Venture Café; a member of a
global network with partner organizations in US & Europe, aims to ILNA President Shelley Rider presented the topic “Sustainovation:
Business really can help save the planet”. She cited the Interloop
2017 Global Innovation Summit titled ‘Sustainovation’, which focused
on sustainability + innovation. She shared Interloop’s Triple P Bottom
Line approach to sustainability and insights into company’s mission
and journey, with the goal of inspiring ideas and action among those
in attendance.
Shelley offered 4 key takeaways for Venture Café attendees:
• Leadership commitment and investment in sustainability is a must
• Innovation and Sustainability go together: Sustainovation is key
to overcoming roadblocks to sustainability
• Sustainovation can support many key company initiatives
• You need to learn to tell your story and keep telling it
Venture Café Executive Director, Karen Barnes thanked ILNA for
sharing Interloop’s Sustainovation story with their community of
Members of the ILNA team at Sustainability Night innovators and entrepreneurs and stated that Interloop was moving in
the right direction and doing the right thing despite all types of
challenges
