Coal Ash Bricks Plant
Energy Division took another initiative by making
bricks from Coal Ash; a waste produced in the coal
boiler during steam generation. Rather than just
dumping the ash that destroys water quality and land
fertility, Energy Division team managed to utilize it for
producing bricks via an eco-friendly method, involving
no burning of fossil fuel and using sunlight for the brick
curing process. The Bricks plant has the capacity to
produce 7,000 bricks/day.
Currently, the plant is in testing phase where sample
bricks are being produced with around 3 weeks of
curing time with strength equal or greater than
conventional red brick. Coal Ash Bricks Plant at Interloop Industrial Park
98% Less Water Consumption
As of today, 1.9 billion people are living in areas with
extreme water stress and Pakistan is at the 7th position
among all the countries with water crisis. This figure is
expected to increase to 5 billion in the coming years unless
we bring some drastic positive change and try
implementing solutions at hand. Interloop Energy Cell once
again took up the challenge of improving the way we use
water. By installing extreme water saving Altered Nozzles,
we will be able to consume 98% less water from the same
tap. A sample of these nozzles have been installed at
Plants 1, 2 & VSF. Energy Cell plans to spread this product
across the company to minimize water wastage.
